DR. TARA VALIQUETTE

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
D.M.D., Cert. OMFS, FRCD (C)

Dr. Valiquette earned a Bachelor of Science Honours degree from Queen’s University and obtained her dental degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental medicine. She completed a full scope residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of North Carolina. She received several awards during her training including the Veteran’s Affairs Dental Service Certificate of Appreciation in 2008, Professional and Academic Achievement Award in 2006, and Horace Wells Award in 2006. Dr. Valiquette practiced as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in North Carolina prior to returning home to Canada. She is a Fellow in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Valiquette specializes in wisdom teeth removal, complicated extractions and dental implant placement. She is passionate about providing surgical procedures in a caring and healing environment.

The Valiquette family live on a farm in Dunrobin.  On her off-time Dr. Valiquette enjoys the outdoors with her two children, husband and animals.  They feel so blessed to return home to Canada and enjoy everything the four seasons have to offer!  

Dr. Valiquette is proud to represent a small percentage of female Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons in North America.  She provides mentorship to students and colleagues in both medical and dental fields.  She lectures on her passion for third molar surgery and advanced techniques and protocols for advances in this field.  She serves her dental community on the Executive for the Ottawa Women Dentists Study Club and will become President of the club next year.
